Yippeee!
Which is... a definite yes! On Sundays, at 1:30 pm, we will be having recorded talks, the first being by Rev. Master Meian Elbert. The talk she gave will be "On Manjusri".
The location is at Panera, on Albany Avenue, near where it crosses with North Main Street. (in West Hartford, CT)
The good folks at Panera are being kind with us, so we WILL (*ahem*) be equally kind with them. I have a speaker that works, but that's to boost the volume slightly. We aren't playin' Def Leppard here. If an employee asks us to tone it down a bit, we will happily do so. Period.
I will arrive at approximately 1:00 pm, and will start the recording at 1:30 pm. If you arrive late, be considerate by getting a chair and listening quietly.
You will recognize me as one of the folks in a wheelchair. For additional privacy, I'll seek a seat in the very BACK of the restaurant.
This is a great start! I look forward to seeing you!

Hola!
Around December, I started reading about Buddhism. Well, really read. I occasionally read a personal favorite of mine, Thich Hnat Hahn, did my meditation... but I didn't delve into it until then. About a week or so, I ran into Keizan. Geez, I really liked him. He was advocating the equality of men and women some 900 years ago. In this country, women were not granted the right to vote until less than a hundred years ago. The ERA (Equal Rights Amendment) still isn't law. (Ahem...) Then there's Keizan...
Shasta Abbey is kind, in that they send works at no charge here to Connecticut. They also send a number of e-books, also at no charge. (Please, send a donation.)
I don't want to jump the gun too much, but I will let you know when there's more.
